Random ports for maximum security.
TrustyFiles can use random ports for public downloading for maximum security. However this is generally not compatible with personal and private file sharing unless you keep TrustyFiles running continuously.

To change from a fixed port to a random port:
1. From the Options display, turn Incoming port option OFF (no checkmark).
2. Click OK or Apply.
3. Restart TrustyFiles for the port change to become effective.

Fixed ports for personal file sharing.
You don't want your port to change if a friend is trying to download a file from you. TrustyFiles uses a default fixed port of 6346. Some firewalls may block this port. Unfriendly network spies that know your IP address may try this default port as well. You can manually change this port number for increased security. Generally available ports range from 1024 to 65535.

To change to or use a different fixed port:
1. From the Options display, click the Incoming Port option ON (with a checkmark).
2. Enter a new port number.
3. Restart TrustyFiles for the port change to become effective.
