Overview

TrustyFiles Virus Scanning uses the anti-virus software you already have installed on your computer.
 
Set up TrustyFiles
1. Access the Anti-Virus settings in the Options window

2. Activate file virus scanning by clicking the checkbox ON for 'Check each downloaded file for viruses'

3. TrustyFiles must know the the executable file (.exe) for your anti-virus program. Check your anti-virus software documentation to locate the program file. Find the anti-virus program file with the file browser by clicking the 'Select' button.

Sample program file locations are below. These may be different even if you have the same software.

AVG
C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG6\avgse.exe

McAfee
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Network Associates\VirusScan Engine\4.0.xx\scan.exe
or
C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\Agent\mcagent.exe
Norton
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\NMain.exe
or
C:\Program Files\Norton SystemWorks\Norton AntiVirus\NAVW32.exe
 
Running TrustyFiles
When a file is completely downloaded TrustyFiles automatically calls your anti-virus software to scan the file.
